Established in 2001 Mortgage Information Bureau is a Glasgow based family business instilled with core values of honesty and trust, offering professional financial advice in a friendly manner. Directed by mother and son with a combined knowledge and expertise of over 48 years in the mortgage industry.

At Mortgage Information Bureau we word hard simplifying mortgages whilst building client relationships that last. This ethos is paramount to us and by adopting this approach over two decades, we have built a solid client base in excess of 8,000. We are extremely proud to have provided financial advice to three generations of the same family!

Our team thrives on helping customers buy their first home, the excitement involved in moving and now, seeing several of our clients reach the end of their mortgage term and owning their home outright. This for us is a complete mortgage journey and brings the vision we set out 20 years ago to life! Our history
Our Journey So Far

2001

New Beginnings
After 13 successful years working in larger firms throughout the City Centre, director Marion Martin had a vision to bring a mortgage brokers to the East End of Glasgow. This saw the birth of Mortgage Information Bureau.

2006

Team Expand
Now firmly established after a prosperous 5 year, we grew our team and welcomed our now Director Jason Gillan, Marion’s son.

2008/2009

Financial Recession
A couple of years we would all like to forget! The start of the financial recession of 2008 with the collapse of major banks over the world. This regrettable time ultimately led to thousands of people across the UK losing their homes.

2010 - 2016

Restructure
These years saw us going back to basics and enforce changes to with stand the consequences of the recession. We rebuilt the business and started to grow once again.

2017

New Office Search
We had outgrown our office and were on the hunt for larger premises. We secured our now head office at 49 Main Street Baillieston and the refurbishment project began.

2018

New Office Opening
A new and exciting challenge ahead; we opened the doors to our new office! We created more job opportunities in the community and were able to see more clients.

2020

Coronavirus
A year that shook the world yet again. We were fortunate enough to see the property industry remain open for most of the year and are extremely grateful. We implemented new procedures and means of communicating with our clients due to the rapid change this year brought to the industry. We also welcomed Marion’s daughter to the team.

2021

We are 20
Celebrating 20 years in business! This year sees our 20th birthday. Now up to a diverse team of 10, our goal still remains to bring more job opportunities within local communities. We aim to keep up with our core values to provide an excellent service to our clients as we grow. Our personalised approach sets us apart from our competition.
